Another Time Has Other Lives to Live

The exhibition Another Time Has Other Lives to Live curated by Diana Marincu addressed the disruptive political changes in the world order and the shifting relationship between humanity, the planet, technology, and one another. The works of the 12 artists explored otherness, invisible micro-universes, and contemporary transformations of the body.

The selection reaffirmed the mission of the Art Encounters Foundation to support artists connected to Timisoara, including Alexandra Costea, Andrei Dinica-Nicolescu, Bogdan Rata, and Florin Dragoi, alongside emerging artists such as Luca Florian, Talia Maidenberg, Claudia Moraru, and Mara Verhoogt, as well as diaspora artists Ileana Pascalau and Ana Golici. It also created intergenerational bridges, referencing figures such as Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, and highlighted artists born in the mid-1980s, including Florin Dragoi, Ileana Pascalau, Bogdan Rata, and Serena Ferrario, while reintroducing overlooked names and presenting international artists Serena Ferrario and Talia Maidenberg, both connected to the region.

The exhibition was open from September 26, 2025 to January 10, 2026. It was part of the Another Time project, funded by AFCN and supported by Banca Transilvania as strategic partner and ISHO, and was organized in partnership with the National Museum of Art of Moldova, the German Cultural Center in Timisoara, Mobius Gallery, Catinca Tabacaru Gallery, and La Doua Bufnite, with additional support from the Sainciuc Rusu Ciobanu family and the Arbor Institute for Culture.
