Another Time, Another Step: My Participation at Art Encounters
Soon I will be presenting 5 works in the exhibition “Another time has other lives to live”, organized by the Art Encounters Foundation and curated by Diana Marincu (to whom I am deeply grateful 🙏). This marks my first participation in a major group exhibition in Timisoara, and I feel honored to be part of such a strong selection of artists.
Out of the 5 works, 3 are completely new and created especially for this exhibition. They form a small series in colored pencils, titled The Blue Hour Series, which includes: Guardian of the Threshold, The Keeper and The Seedbearer.
You’ll have to come to the exhibition to see them premiered. The series proposes a cinematic vision of archetypal figures who watch, travel, and regenerate between worlds, wearing masks that blend folkloric symbols with speculative technologies, in a cycle of passage, memory, and rebirth.
Alongside them, two graphite-on-paper works, created in 2024, will also be exhibited: Mellarius and Waxing Crescent. These, together with the three colored-pencil works from The Blue Hour Series, are part of the same imaginary world I have been building for some time, a post-collapse universe in which new tribes rise from the ruins, searching for meaning and new ways of existing.
📅 When and where?
Friday, September 26, 5:00 PM – Opening at the Art Encounters Foundation, Timisoara
6:00 PM – Performance & live music by FloriMan (Mircea Florian & Lucian Stan aka DJ Vasile)
The exhibition brings together the works of 12 artists and reflects the profound transformations of our present time, as well as shifts in our connection with the planet, the universe, with others, and with technology.
👉 The exhibition will be open from September 26, 2025 – January 10, 2026. Admission is free.
Full line-up:
Alexandra Costea (RO), Valentina Rusu Ciobanu (MD), Andrei Dinica-Nicolescu (RO), Florin Dragoi (RO), Serena Ferrario (DE/IT), Luca Florian (RO), Ana Golici (RO/USA), Talia Maidenberg (FR), Claudia Moraru (RO/NL), Ileana Pascalau (RO/DE), Bogdan Rata (RO), Mara Verhoogt (RO).
For me, this participation is an important milestone, not only because it takes place in the city where I live and create, but also because it is part of an exhibition that opens dialogues across generations, geographies, and artistic universes.
See you there on the 26th!
