The 96th Annual Visual Arts Salon, Timisoara

Memento Mori exhibited at the 96th edition of the Annual Visual Arts Salon at the National Museum of Art Timisoara.

I’m pleased to be part of the 96th edition of the Annual Visual Arts Salon, hosted by the National Museum of Art Timisoara, where I am exhibiting my work Memento Mori alongside works by 120 artists.

Organized by the Timisoara Branch of the Romanian Union of Visual Artists (U.A.P.R.), in collaboration with the National Museum of Art Timisoara and the Timis County Council, the Annual Visual Arts Salon is one of the longest-standing events on Timisoara’s artistic calendar, with a tradition spanning almost a century.

This year’s edition brings together 120 artists, including members of the Timisoara Branch of U.A.P.R., graduates of art faculties and universities, as well as invited members of the National Council of the Romanian Union of Visual Artists.

The exhibition is curated by Daniela Constantin and Nicolae Moldovan, with the official opening presented by visual artist Gabriel Kelemen.

During the opening, the 2026 Salon awards were also presented. The jury consisted of Daniela Constantin, president of the jury, alongside Gabriel Kelemen, Smaranda Moldovan, Remus Irimescu, and Remus Rotaru, with awards including the Primus Inter Pares Prize, the Youth Prize, and the Jury Prize.

It was a pleasure to take part in this edition and to see Memento Mori presented within such a broad overview of the local contemporary art scene.

Congratulations to all the participating artists, award recipients, curators, and organizers for a wonderful edition.
