Lily

"Lily" - 29,7x42 cm, Graphite on 300gr Hahnemühle paper, 2024

Lily wandered through the overgrown ruins of the warehouse, her glass helmet fogged slightly with each breath, shielding her from the almost unbreathable air and from the overwhelming scent of the lilies she gently cradled. Though the world had changed, decayed, and sealed itself off from the softness of old memories, she still found beauty in small rituals: the quiet walk, the way light danced through broken windows, the stubborn bloom of flowers where none should grow. She couldn’t smell them anymore, but she remembered. And in that memory, in each step she took surrounded by nature reclaiming metal and silence, she felt something like peace and the hope that the world, too, could bloom again.
